We build the communities we call home.
We focus on building, renovating and managing residential homes that meet current and future needs of local Black communities based in a HUD Opportunity Zones of Chicago. We’re proud to be rooted in the heart of our community and going the extra mile to make sure that every individual feels at home, especially focusing on creating safe, comfortable spaces for those with disabilities or mobility challenges.
Key accessibility features
Mobility access and safety
Sloped ramps with handrails for wheelchair access, wider doorways, stairlifts or elevators assure safe, easy movement between floors for elderly residents or those with mobility challenges. Young families may also find these features useful for children with mobility needs.
Accessible bathrooms
Walk-in showers, grab bars, raised toilets and anti-slip flooring are essential for both elderly individuals and those with disabilities, offering safety, ease of use and comfort in daily routines.
Smart Home technology
Voice-activated systems, motion-sensor lighting and easy-to-reach outlets improve comfort and self-sufficiency for senior residents, while people with disabilities benefit from added safety and simplicity in home management.
Additional features
Sustainable and Eco-Friendly
We incorporate sustainable materials like bamboo or recycled wood for flooring, low-VOC paints for better air quality, water-efficient fixtures, and energy-saving solutions such as LED lighting and smart thermostats to enhance environmental impact and cost-efficiency.
Building from within.
We hire individuals from areas of the greatest need. Our work targets the areas with the highest demand for upgrades in plumbing, pest control, urban planning and access to public health and education resources. Through these efforts, we renovate family homes, senior homes, residential housing, churches and schools. We also put our efforts in community spaces like parks, theaters, pools and restaurants, to improve our neighborhoods from the inside out.
